Coupon Lingo
I have received some emails recently inquiring what all the strange abbreviations meant so I figured it was high time I explain it. If I missed an abbreviation feel free to let me know and I will add it to the list.
Coupon Inserts
- P&G = Procter & Gamble insert
- RP = RedPlum isnert
- SS = Smart Source insert
- V = Valassis (Same as RedPlum, different name for different region.)
Deal Lingo
- B1G1: Buy one item get one item free
- B2G1: Buy two items get one item free
- Blinkies: Coupon dispensers with blinking lights found at grocery and/or drugstore
- Catalina: Catalina coupon, prints from a separate machine when your receipt prints
- CPN: Coupon
- CRT: Cash register tape, this is common at CVS, it will print either with your receipt or when you scan your CVS card
- DND: Do NOT double
- Ea.: Each
- EB: Extra Bucks, CVS loyalty rewards system previously known as Extra Care Bucks or ECB’s
- ETS: Excludes trial size
- Exp.: Expires
- GC: Gift card
- IVC: Instant Value Coupon, Walgreens’ store coupons found in ads and monthly booklet
- MIR: Mail-in rebate
- Mfg: Manufacturer
- OYNO: On your next order
- OOP: Out of pocket
- OOS: Out of stock
- Peelie: Peel-off sticker coupon found on product packaging
- PSA: Prices starting at
- RR: Register Rewards, Walgreens’ Catalina coupons aka RRs
- Q: Coupon
- Stacking: Using both a manufacturer’s coupon and a store coupon on one item
- UPC: Universal product code aka bar code
- WYB: When you buy
- YMMV: Your mileage may vary, meaning some stores might give you the deal but others might not depending on region and/or store
