DIY Starbucks Peppermint Mocha

DIY_Starbucks_Peppermint_Mocha_1-266x400

Okay many of you know I rarely if ever drink coffee just because I can be a caffeinated spaz without actually having any coffee. Well I started working part time and guess what we’ve been drinking on our way to work. That’s right! Coffee as in Café Mocha type goodness. Since it’s chilly and officially holiday season I thought having a yummy DIY recipe for Starbucks Peppermint Mocha would be perfect. Did I mention this is way cheaper to make versus driving to Starbucks?

Quick Check List of Ingredients Needed:

  • Milk
  • Coffee
  • Cocoa Powder
  • Sugar
  • Peppermint Syrup (Mom Advice has a DIY recipe for this as well because she’s nifty like that.)
  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • Chocolate Syrup (optional)
  • Crushed Peppermints (optional)

DIY Homemade Butterfinger Bars

diy-homemade-butterfinger

We are fast approaching the time of year when candy goes on sale for the Halloween season and that means really cheap candy corn. You’re probably thinking I’ve lost it because I said we’re making DIY Homemade Butterfinger bars not buying candy corn right. Well, believe it or not, candy corn is the main ingredient in these yummy bars.

So if you’re a Butterfingers fan, stock up on candy corn when they go on sale for free or really cheap at CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreens as the candy buying season draws near.

If you don’t celebrate Halloween don’t worry you can still make these for Harvest Festivals or think long term and snag candy or cookie molds in the off season for Easter and Christmas!

So without further hesitation I highly recommend you visit Plain Chicken for her Homemade Butterfinger Bars with only 3 ingredients! Word of caution, they aren’t crispy like the real thing but the taste is spot on!

DIY Homemade Vanilla Extract (Great Holiday Gift Idea)

diy-homemade-vanilla-extract

Oh dear the holiday season is fast approaching and what better way than to make your own Homemade Vanilla Extract! You can use it for yourself or you can make a big batch and give it away as gifts for Christmas. And don’t worry about making bottles pretty for gifts, Indie Spotting has you covered with some pre-made designs to use as stickers!

Now if you’re interested in doing this I suggest you get on the ball because they need at least 6 weeks to age but the longer the better if you want a more intense vanilla flavor.

Much thanks to the very creative Indie Spotting for making the tutorial and nifty labels!
